Transplant of a 200-year-old Monterey Cypress to a signature position guarding the 18th green.
Kiawah Island Golf Resort
Reforestation of two golf course properties and hotel property at an exclusive South Carolina resort. The project involved transplanting 300+ 16'-26' existing oak species from difficult sand/high water table conditions to a staging area and finally to the golf courses and resort areas under construction.
Colleton River Plantation
Pete Dye designed course built on the site of an historic plantation. Preserved eight 200-year-old oak trees by transplanting them along fairways and at doglegs of the new course.
Firestone Country Club
Renovation to modernize the course to be consistent with modern golf equipment. Project included significant grade changes on the course and the transplanting of on-site trees to frame the new course layout.
Fallen Oak Golf Course
After huricane Katrina ravaged this Fazio designed golf course, Environmental Design was called in to 're-forest' the golf course.
Tehama Golf Club
Development of a golf course and residential properties in an ecological sensitive region of California. Over the life of the project, Environmental Design has transplanted thousands of trees maintaining the natural forest.
Frederica Township
Project to preserve and transplant 100's of large oak trees as part of an extensive golf community development.
The Golf Resort at Indian Wells
As part of the City of Indian Wells planned renovation of the historic Indian Wells Golf Courses, Environmental Design was brought in to transplant existing trees to conform to the new course layout.
Bachmann Springs
Project to build a high-end residential development centered around a world-class golf course in Tombstone, Arizona. Environmental Design's scope included supplying 52 Live Oaks (Quercus viginiana) ranging from 12-20 inch trunk caliper from Central Texas. The trees were harvested and transported using tree boxes ranging from 84 to 120 inches.
Gozzer Ranch Golf and Lake Club
Environmental Design was contracted to move over 70 giant pine and firs for this high-end residential and golf course development.
TPC Four Seasons Dallas at Las Colinas
For this project, Environmental Design was brought in to relocate in excess of 200 large to giant trees as part of the TPC Four Seasons Dallas at Las Colinas course renovation project.
Master Planned Communities
Woodlands - Eastshore
Project to landscape a high-end master planned community with specimen trees. Environmental Design has worked on various phases of this project for 3 years and has transplanted or supplied over 1,000 trees.
Montgomery Farm
For the initial phase of Montgomery Farm Development, Environmental Design supplied in excess of (30) native Cedar Elms ranging in size from 8 to 18 inches. The trees were brought in from a nearby salvage site. This project provided both a new home for the trees to continue to mature and added immediate appeal to the property.
Mixed Use
Park Lane Development
For this project, Environmental Design established two irrigated, temporary holding yards to house nearly one hundered red oaks, crepe myrtles, live oaks, and cedar elms. The trees were transplanted onsite into the tree farms and are being maintained for 12 to 18 months in preparation for the final transplants into the newly developed landscape.
Downtown Jebel Ali
The Downtown Jebel Ali is a 200 hectare (494 acre) sustainable, mixed-use development consisting of four quarters, each with its own iconic, individually-themed plaza. Limitless, the international development arm of Dubai World, set out to change the landscape quality standard on its flagship Dubai development along Sheikh Zayed Road by creating "instant shade" for its inhabitants. The concept of an exterior destination is rarely found within the desert of Dubai.

Harris County Flood Control
Project to relocate trees out of the way of an extensive infrastructure project to improve flood control in Harris County.
Residential
Coppola Residence
Project to move a 60' tall Valley Oak tree from the nearby vineyard to a prominent place in front of Francis Ford Coppola's Napa Valley home.
Lance Armstrong Residence
Transplant of a 150-year-old Live Oak to the center of the circular drive at Lance's new Austin, TX residence.
Tulsa Private Residence
Supply, transport and planting of a specimen tree in Tulsa, Ok. The tree was transplanted to the residence's backyard by means of crane lift over the house.
California Private Residence
Project to transplant a wind-shaped Coast Live Oak to frame the entrance to a prominent Central California residence.
Fertitta Residence
Environmental Design was contracted to locate, box, transport, and plant over 20 specimen Pine Trees for a high-end private residence in Las Vegas, NV.
Memorial District Private Residence
Move 2 specimen Oak trees each weighing 175,000lbs, to make way for the construction of a new home.
The Tribute Development
For this project, Environmental Design was contracted to locate, harvest, and supply 7 giant live oaks to add instant impact to the Tribute Development entrance and amenity center. In addition, we also supplied and installed 100 specimen 4 - 5" live oaks from our Monaville, TX tree farm.
Resorts
Wynn Resort
Multi-year project to harvest over 2,000 trees from an existing golf course to a tree nursery, and then re-planting the trees on the new golf course and spectacular hotel property.
San Diego Zoo
The San Diego Zoo, home to the largest Strangler Fig (Ficus watkinsiana) in the U.S., wanted to use the tree to create a unique entrance to the new Monkey Trails and Forest Tales habitat. Environmental Design was asked to not only move the tree to a new location horizontally, but also to lower the tree 30' to allow visitors to experience the primate exhibit from an elevated walkway in the tree canopy.
Beau Rivage Resort
Procurement, transport, and installation of 22 Live Oaks for the grand entrance of the new Beau Rivage Casino. Each tree was located and harvested in the surrounding area to meet the project size requirements (30' tall with a 30' spread and a 24" trunk caliper).
The Cloister
Project to build a new resort hotel while maintaining the charm of the original, including a surrounding forest of mature Live Oaks.
Hershey Park
As the projects in place for the updating of attractions at Hershey Park proceed, Environmental Design, Inc., the recognized leader in tree transplantation and preservation, will play a significant role in the harvesting and relocation of trees throughout the park complex.
Universities
Blanton Museum of Art, University of Texas
Preserved 15 specimen Live and Red Oaks weighing up to 220,000lbs and supplied 98 specimen Cedar Elms to create an Elm grove in downtown Austin.
Florida State University
Prior to the construction of the Student Success Center at the University of Florida, Tallahassee, Environmental Design, the national leader in giant tree preservation and transplantation was employed to save a 40" live oak that was growing within the foot print of the new building.
Urban Green Space
WTC Memorial Grove
Environmental Design has been awarded the tree services contract for the Word Trade Center Memorial grove. The design calls for the delivery of 437 custom-grown mature trees in time for the memorial's scheduled opening in Fall, 2009.
Nasher Sculpture Center
The Nasher Sculpture Center is a publicly and privately funded art exhibit built in downtown Dallas, Texas to showcase Mr. & Mrs. Nasher's extensive sculpture collection. Peter Walker & Partners designed a garden plan calling for over 150 mature trees including Live Oaks, Cedar Elms, Crepe Myrtles, Southern Magnolias, and Willows to accent the art pieces. Environmental Design was tasked with procuring and culturing the trees 2 years prior to installation, and transplanting the trees into the busy downtown site. Some of the challenges on this project included the transplant of trees up to 18" caliper and weighing over 100,000 pounds, as well as the management of traffic and pedestrian control at the busy downtown site.
Dallas Center for the Performing Arts
For this project, the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Foundation and Landscape Architect JJR envisioned a mature landscape on the opening day of the Performing Arts buildings. They hired Environmental Design, the industry experts in Large to Giant Tree Transplanting, to deliver their design objectives through mature specimen tree supply and installation services.
