Project Requirements
When the Sea Island Company decided to replace their 1928 resort, The Cloister, with a new hotel, they insisted on maintaining the charm of the original. This included preserving and transplanting the mature forest surrounding the original building.
Project Process
Environmental Design was brought in to preserve the historic forest surrounding the original building and to transplant the trees to surround the new building. The result is a brand new world-class resort that looks as if it has been there for decades.
