4 Oaks Plantation:
In deep south Georgia, there are many 10,000-60,000 acre hunting reserves commonly called “Plantations.” An EDI client from 1999, who we moved several large trees of multiple species for in Duchess County, New York, contacted us to move five 200+-year-old live oaks at his newly acquired Four Oaks Plantation. After a fall root-pruning, these 36-48” diameter live oaks were moved the following spring, traversing nearly a mile from harvest to final locations. The trees were given names as staff and management grew to love these specimens. Today, Melissa, Javier, Pete, Re-Pete, and Fred are thriving.
