When Roadside Development, LLC designed the new multi-use property to be christened ” City Ridge” at 3900 Wisconsin Avenue in Washington DC, the architects anticipated the DDOT requirement for the preservation of heritage trees on the site. One year prior to groundbreaking, EDI was tasked with root-pruning and monitoring nine candidate heritage trees for relocation. As the design evolved, three trees were eventually selected and were relocated from the rear of the property to the great lawn along Wisconsin Avenue. Arborlift™ was the chosen technique, and the relocations took place between December 10, 2018 and January 25, 2019.
