San Diego Zoo:
The design for the San Diego’s zoo Gorilla Tropics exhibit included a dramatic entrance through a tree canopy. EDI was contracted to transplant a 80 foot tall strangler fig (Ficus watkinsiana) to create the new entrance. The 450,00lbs tree was moved from what was once the flamingo exhibt to its new location and then lowered 20ft. A new walkway was then installed in the canopy to access the gorilla
