Location: Tombstone, Arizona
Geography: Hardiness Zone 8b
Type: Golf Course Construction
Project Requirements
The Bachman Springs development is a high-end residential development centered around a Tom Fazio designed golf course in Tombstone, Arizona. The designers of this development opted to utilize the versatile Live Oak (Quercus virigniana) to accent key spots along the picturesque golf course. Environmental Design was contracted to locate and transplant these specimen trees.
Project Process
Environmental Design, along with the project team, selected 52 specimen lives to supply to Tombstone. The tree ranged in size from 12 to 20 in caliper. The trees were harvested using tree boxes that ranged from 84 to 120 inches in size. Next, Environmental Design transported the trees to a holding yard at the construction site and worked with the Arizona Department of Agriculture to insure that these trees met the exacting Arizona requirements. From the holding yard, the trees were planted at key points along the spectacular golf course.
